Written by DreamSpring | February 10, 2025

A well-crafted LinkedIn page can boost your brand visibility with opportunities to engage with potential customers and suppliers. Here’s how to set one up for your business.

Just like maintaining a website is essential for small businesses today, a LinkedIn company page is a tool you can’t afford to skip over. Creating a page for your business on LinkedIn allows you to share your story, showcase your services, and connect with potential customers and partners. Start building visibility and credibility for your business as part of a global community of over 700 million professionals just follow these steps to get your company set up on LinkedIn.

Want to connect with more customers and suppliers?  A strong LinkedIn page is key.  Learn how to set one up for your business.

Step 1: Log In to Your LinkedIn Profile

Before you can create a company page, you must log in to your personal LinkedIn account. LinkedIn requires an individual account to manage and administer company pages.

🌱 Pro Tip: Use a personal profile with a professional photo and updated details about your business, including your role as a founder. This builds credibility and trust when potential clients or employees visit your company page.

Step 2: Create a Company Page

Once logged in, click the “Work” icon in the top-right corner of your homepage. Scroll down to the bottom of the drop-down menu and select “Create a Company Page.”

Choose the type of page that matches your business.

  • Small business: companies with fewer than 200 employees
  • Medium to large business: larger organizations
  • Educational institution: schools, universities, or training programs

🌱 Pro Tip: Unsure which category to pick? Choose one based on your anticipated audience, so that your page aligns with their expectations.

Step 3: Add Basic Company Information

Once you’ve selected your page type, fill in the required fields:

  • Company Name: Enter the name exactly as it appears in your branding materials.
  • LinkedIn Public URL: Create a short, easy-to-remember URL for your page (e.g., linkedin.com/company/yourbusinessname).

  • Industry, Company Size, and Type: Use the dropdown menus to provide essential details about your business.

🌱 Pro Tip: Double-check your public URL for typos. A clean, professional URL is easier to share and improves your page’s SEO.

Step 4: Add Branding and Visual Elements

Your LinkedIn company page is an extension of your brand, so it’s essential to make a strong visual impression. Adding consistent branding elements like your logo, banner image, and color scheme helps establish a professional and cohesive look. These visual elements will capture people’s attention and also reinforce your company’s identity, making your page more memorable.

  • Upload your logo (recommended size: 300 x 300 pixels) to ensure your page is easily identifiable.
  • Add a cover image (recommended size: 1128 x 191 pixels) that reflects your brand’s personality or mission.
  • Craft a short, compelling tagline that sums up your business in one or two sentences.

🌱 Pro Tip: Use high-quality visuals that align with your branding. A poorly designed logo or pixelated cover photo can make your page appear unprofessional. Tools like Canva can help you create professional, on-brand graphics for your page.

Step 5: Write a Strong "About" Section

Your "About" section is your opportunity to tell your brand’s story and connect with your audience on a deeper level. This is where you can clearly communicate your mission, values, and what sets your business apart. Be concise and try to make an impression — highlight your unique offerings and how your products or services can benefit potential clients. A well-crafted "About" section builds credibility and invites visitors to learn more about your brand and what you do.

Make sure to provide:

  • An overview: Describe what your company does, who you serve, and what makes your business unique.
  • Specialties: List keywords or areas of expertise that potential clients or collaborators might search for.
  • Website and contact information: Ensure links and contact details are accurate.

🌱 Pro Tip: Keep your tone professional yet approachable. Use this space to establish your authority while showing your brand’s personality. And don't forget to make sure your personal LinkedIn profile reflects your company page!

Step 6: Publish Your Page

Review all the information and visuals you’ve added. When you’re satisfied, click “Create Page.” Your LinkedIn company page is now live!

🌱 Pro Tip: Share the link with your team and encourage them to follow and link their profiles to the page to increase visibility and credibility. For additional tips on making the most of your company page, visit LinkedIn's Marketing Solutions.
