Owners of Lil Monsters Playground in Windsor, Colorado

After moving to a new town, Lexi and Jordan Doig struggled to find accessible, age-appropriate activities for their two young children. They decided to fill the gap themselves with Lil Monsters Playground, an indoor space designed specifically for families with kids ages 6 and under.

Hand-woven rainbow netting with “Dr. Seuss vibes” and a lagoon-like pit filled with 35,000 multicolored balls are irresistible to small children. The coffee bar, thoughtful event programming, and rigorous approach to deep cleaning are appealing to parents.

Lexi and Jordan knew they wanted an SBA loan to finance their start-up business and approached multiple lenders, including their own personal bank. “After chatting with a few different folks, it was obvious to us that DreamSpring was going to be the best,” Lexi says. “We could tell DreamSpring was invested in us and making the business a success.”

DreamSpring’s SBA funds and business support empowered the Doigs to stay true to their vision while giving them the bandwidth to integrate ideas from the community. That approach has proven to be a resounding success, and Lil Monsters is already scouting for a second location.

"It's deeply rewarding that the work that we've put in has created joy for all these families in our community,” Lexi says.
