Introducing two new opportunities to connect financial institutions with our mission of inclusion and equity.
For the past three decades, DreamSpring has reduced barriers to financial inclusion for underrepresented entrepreneurs. But we can’t do it alone. Like many Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), we rely upon the guidance, expertise, and engagement of financial institution partners to bring our mission to life. Bank and Credit Union employees often have deep experience in small business lending, economic development, and financial education — knowledge that propels our work further.
To tap into this critical expertise, we are launching two committees to shape our work and strengthen partnerships:
The DreamSpring Education and Engagement Committee will focus on financial education, resource sharing, and ideas for technical assistance. We’ll learn more about how to collaborate, cross-refer, grow our understanding of available resources, and better inform entrepreneurs of options available to them.
The DreamSpring Financial Institution Impact Committee will focus on the changing lending landscape and the evolving needs of underrepresented entrepreneurs. We’ll hear from bank representatives about emerging trends they are seeing at their respective institutions and how CDFIs like DreamSpring can bridge gaps and best support small business owners.
Committees are national in scope, but opportunities to have regional conversations will emerge. Both committees will meet virtually on a quarterly basis, with follow-up gatherings as needed.
